13
years ago, with your help, Ive learned to become the leader
of my life. By accepting the painful facts I now understand their
meaning and find the strength to carry on.
Now I manage to feel good and take the best out of everything
that happens to me.
Lucia (office worker)
For four years, following my breast surgery, I resisted the impulse
of seeking your help.
In the meantime I gave up my profession as a physician to be only
a mother and a wife.
What made me decide to come and get to know you was the determination
to give a change of direction to my thoughts and meaning to my
life.
I succeeded! The work in the Replanning ones life
and Deciding to Live groups provided me with stimulating
elements to mobilise new energies.
In a short while I began to find new motivations, and ultimately
I rediscovered the desire and the pleasure of being a doctor.
Many years have passed since then, my children have grown... and
so have I.
Now I hope to find the time to complete my work with you in the
Affection Therapy group as well.

...After
attending the groups of Attivecomeprima, to my great joy I began
to feel that something was changing inside me. My days went back
to being rich with interests, with the desire to organise new
projects, my tomorrows had a meaning of life. But I felt something
deeper, the desire to do something for others, especially in view
of the terrible moments that I had gone through. This joy of giving
led to the formation in my city of Associazione Donna.
It is a non-for-profit association that proposes to help women
who have had breast surgery... We are messengers of faith, of
hope. The hope that a woman who had the same experience can transmit.

...This is the core of my experience: having met the right
people at the right time was crucial; it would all have been harder
if I hadnt had this opportunity... The experience with people
who were able to teach me the importance of being doctor
of my life, too...
The inner change put my illness into perspective... and this took
away the fear. From this point of view I feel I can say I have
defeated cancer.
